SINGLE MOMENTS: Recent Monotypes
I received my BFA in Painting from American University in 1983. The last time I printed monotypes was in 1981.
I am happy to say that I recently found a Charles Brand press to play with. It is liberating to have as many chances as I want to see something. No pressure to get it right the first time, but instead, permission to explore and gain an intimate understanding of my subject from seeing it over and over again. Printing these monotypes launched me into a process of discovery. When I step back, I can revisit this process and appreciate the single moments of seeing that occurred.
